Alfons Gabel and his son recorded the daylight Regulus graze from his home near Mainz, Germany
The occultation of Saturn was also video recorded in Poland and Belgium
First, the message from Alfons Gabel about these occultations From: "Alfons Gabel"To: "GRAZE" Subject: [GRAZE] Regulus graze successful Date: Thu, 24 May 2007 00:01:24 +0200 Dear all, After a cloudy thriller story my son Alexander and myself succeeded in recording the afternoon graze of Regulus. Fortunately my home in Klein-Winternheim (8 km sw. of Mainz/Germany) was situated only a few hundred meters within the extreme peak of the lunar profile. So we easily could build up a C8 in the shaddow of my house and record a 23 second occultation with a webcam. Detailed report follows. This single frame of the video shows how easily Regulus was observable - despite broad daylight, bright lunar rim, and slightly misty sky. Let me also add an unprocessed This single frame of Saturn's egress yesterday.
