Subject: Preliminary Iota Occultation Results from Live Oak
Noah Rashkind and I were able to observe the ocultation of Iota
Cancri last night from the IFAS farm located on CR 136, about 6
miles east of Live Oak. Noah used a 10 Meade telescope and took fast
images spaced about one second. I used an 8" Meade, a PC 164 video
camera and recorded on a VCR the video image and WWV 10 MHz timing
signals. We need to take a closer look to the images. Preliminary
inspection of the images show a dissapearance at 8:55:59 local time
and reappearance at 8:56:07. Sky was clear but there were a few thin
cirrus clouds. We'll send a more detailed report later.
