Observers in Texas watched and recorded the dark side of the Moon last Friday evening for possible lunar Geminid impacts, but so far I have heard of no reports of candidate lunar impact flashes. It was very cloudy along the east coast of the U.S.A. A site that shows the lunar impact areas for the Geminids and for other meteor showers in 2002 is here.
Nov. 19th atmospheric Leonids recorded from NC Outer Banks - new 2002 Nov. 26
I video recorded several atmospheric Leonids the morning of November 19 from Coquina Beach, a few miles south of Nags Head, North Carolina. Gary Frishkorn and a friend also recorded Leonids from two locations about 3 km apart at Frisco, near Cape Hatteras about 60 km south of my location to obtain stereo images, and my narrower- field, higher resolution observations overlap their viewing area so that triangulation should be possible. More about this, and some other reports, will be posted here later.
