Pedro Sada's observations have been published in an article, "Optical detection of meteoroidal impacts on the Moon" by J. L. Ortiz, P. V. Sada, et al., in the June 22nd issue of Nature (Vol. 405, pp. 921-923). It also documents Ortiz's recording of a probable but unconfirmed lunar impact that occurred on 1999 July 16. - June 21

Constantino Sigismondi and Giovanni Imponente have published an article, "The Observation of Lunar Impacts", in WGN, the Journal of the IMO. It includes derivations of observable impact rates on the Earthlit dark side of the Moon and during total lunar eclipses for sporatic meteors as well as during meteor showers. - June 21

A probable lunar meteor impact was photographed on Nov. 15, 1953, by Dr. Stuart.

Possible observable lunar Leonid impacts were predicted before November. Also, there are many past observations of possible lunar impacts, but all unconfirmed. The Association of Lunar and Planetary Observers organized observations of the Moon in 1955-1962 to try to observe lunar meteors. Read about these interesing accounts here. - 2000 June 21
