Japanese Observations of the March 23rd Interamnia Occultation
Updated: 2003 April 1Below are the observations of the 2003 March 23rd occultation that I obtained from messages of the Japanese Occultation Information Network (JOIN). They are written in the form needed for input to my computer programs for analyzing asteroidal occultation observations; that format is described here but the two header lines with information about the asteroid and the star are not given here. Essentially, for each observation, there is first a line giving the station data (place name, latitude, longitude, etc.), then a blank line, then lines giving the event timings, ended with another blank line. Since the text of the messages are in Japanese, which my e-mail software doesn't display and which I couldn't read if it could, I had to make assumptions about the names and what the numbers mean; I probably made some mistakes in the interpretation and would be grateful if they could be corrected.
